Smith/Packett recently completed construction on a new 60 bed skilled nursing wing at Kempsville Health and Rehabilitation Center located in coastal Virginia Beach, Virginia. Managed by Saber Healthcare Group, the new wing opened in June 2015. Kempsville Health and Rehabilitation Center features 90 skilled nursing beds with private and semi-private floor plans. The project included a transfer of 30 CON-issued skilled nursing beds that were then combined with 60 existing beds. The 30 bed transfer required approval from the Virginia Health Department, which included a public hearing. The 27,500 square foot addition and renovation carries a total project cost of $6,087,000.
